For mothers, holding a newborn baby against their chests and close to their hearts represents the special bond that they share, which is why it’s such a perfect pose to use during a mommy and me mini session, especially if you’re shooting with a newborn.
Getting mom and child in a close pose that shows them sharing a special conversation or secret makes for some truly memorable photos. Having them lay on a special blanket also allows you to capture some shots from a different angle.
There is nothing quite like a long hug from mom. This pose is especially nice if you’re shooting a mom who has a slightly older child. The embrace highlights the unique and strong connection that mother and child share.

Take a few candid shots by getting your client to play with their child. If the child is young enough, getting mom to spin them around makes for a magical shot that you can capture from a lower angle.
This is a great pose idea if you are shooting a family with more than one child. Getting your client to dance around with her children adds a playful element to the shot and will allow you to include all the children.
